A good lot of us procrastinate. We end up pushing that dream for a later time, keep waiting for everything to fall in place before taking that important decision, let time go before realizing that time is up, the list is endless. I’ve been there, still fall into that trap once in a while, like getting started here. I enjoy writing, but I’ve been pushing it aside, waiting for everything else to fall in place. Waiting to get that perfect timing where I’m set perfectly to write. But what I’ve understood is that it’s important to start off instead of waiting for everything to be perfect. There is nothing like a perfect timing, it is about jumping in and getting into the flow, because time flows. It doesn’t really stop or slow down to help us step in. You’ve really got to jump into the running train, if you don’t want to miss it.

So here’s a list of 9 actions that can help get things streamlined in our day to day lives. They have helped me with time, emotional and physical well being.

  1. Start you day early. Push your self to wake up half an hour early each day until you can wake up around 5 am everyday. Perks of waking up early has a list of its own.
  2. Exercise or move your body for at least 30 minutes everyday. It can be a walk, a dance, or just stretching and walking up and down the stairs a few times.
  3. Make sure to drink at least 5–6 glasses of water in a day. A glass of water, first thing in the morning wakes your body up and helps trigger your digestive system, helping you keep a healthy weight.
  4. Meet or greet at least one stranger (could be just anyone in your neighborhood who is not family) in a day.
  5. Use sticky notes as reminders. The snooze on your phone would often get dismissed. Use sticky notes and put them where you are bound to see it. It ensures you see the task until it gets done.
  6. Take at least 15 minutes of me-time in a day, where you are alone with no distractions or disturbances. Use this to build focus or meditate.
  7. Calm down. When ever you find yourself getting into arguments, before emotions take over, clap loudly and break the tension. Take a break, go out for a walk or drink some water and take a few deep breaths. Calm yourself before proceeding with the discussion.
  8. Don’t plan too much. Finally before your end your day, spend not more than 10 -15 minutes to plan for the next day.
  9. Before you hit the bed, take a walk down the memory lane, go back to memories of happiness. Remember the happy times, not the stress of the day. Be a child before you hit the bed.

Stay safe, stay healthy, flow with time……..
